The elaborate cutscenes and somewhat intricate narrative are enjoyable certainly, but I found 2016's method of storytelling to be more fitting for the series. I do wish the storytelling of Eternal was a bit more in line with 2016's, as the order of events and lore get a bit convoluted in the DLC. The final boss is pretty good, it's not exceptionally challenging and is a bit repetitive, but still works fairly well and is satisfying enough. ![]() The platforming sections are the strongest ones yet, and are legitimately quite fun. The new enemy types offer some amount of variety to the encounters, though a few of them interrupted the flow of gameplay a bit too much, leading to frustration.
